Family Friendliness
My Personal Review
“If anyone is going to save us, it’s us.”
Introduction
Skipper, Rico, Kowalski, and Private are an elite force of penguins that are trained in multiple ways. They have the ability to break in to Fort Knox, or survive a pack of angry leopard seals. Skipper is their leader, and he is glad of it. They all got lost as kids, and now, they are all one family.
When a mad octopus wants to take all the penguins of the world and expose them to his medusa serum, it is up to the penguins to save all the penguins in the world. Can they do it, or are they just cute little penguins that are useless?
Ripe Apples
The penguins are like family. They all enjoy each other’s company. They all have their special place on the team. This is true, for all of them except Private. (Spoiler Warning) Private eventually gets his place on the team though.
We also learn another lesson in this movie. We learn that looks aren’t everything, it’s what’s in the heart that matters. Private shows this to the team. His looks aren’t what is important, what he can do for the team is. Another important lesson learned is that you should never leave a man behind.
Rotten Apples
For a movie that is associated with Madagascar this movie is a pretty kid-friendly movie. For violent content, we only see a few punches and kicks. a few lasers are shot and some explosions occur.
Dave and his octopus friends can look scary for some little kids. They may find Dave creepy, but he really is just funny. We also see some other scary looking creatures, but they only stay scary for about 10 minutes till they change form.
As for sexual content, we see very little. We see some bare butts without feathers. We also see some penguins slap each other’s butts. One penguin grows a butt hand.
We also see Private give every one of his teammates a kiss on the cheek, with the exception of Rico, who grabs him and kisses him on the lip. Private tries to get away and he does. Also, in another scene, Kowalski is talking to an owl and tells her that he sees 31 hostiles, when she says their is thirty. He says that to are very close, physically. He quickly corrects himself, and Skipper shows up to end the conversation. Kowalski also gets kissed by an owl.
There is a little language in this movie, but not a lot. We hear 3 uses of “what the h-ck” and 1 use of “o my g-sh.” “S-ckers” and “what the d-ckens” are each heard once. We also hear some namecalling, including “sass-mouth.” “Sweet cherry of the g-ds” is exclaimed once.”
Conclusion
This movie is one of my favorite Madagascar movies. The penguins are funny and they also teach some good lessons. I wish it didn’t have some of the issues that it has, but no movie is perfect. I hope you choose to watch this movie. If you enjoy it, leave a comment below.
