Marvel Netflix shows on Disney +

Marvel Netflix shows now on Disney Plus

Today Disney Plus added Daredevil, Iron Fist, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, The Defenders, The Punisher, and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. to Disney Plus. These films used to be streaming on Netflix, but recently they were switched over to Disney Plus, and this changes the future for both Disney and Marvel.

What’s Exciting

Since these television series have been added to Disney Plus and we saw Charlie Cox’s Daredevil in Spiderman: No Way Home, there has been speculation if these shows take place in the MCU as well. We all know that the the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. took place in the MCU, but these shows about the Defenders open up the possibility of the Defenders to enter future Marvel films. There is even speculation that we may be getting a season 4 of Daredevil. And with the Moonknight series only a few days away, there is a possibility that we could see a Defender cameo in this series. The main takeaway is that there is a chance for some new stories coming in Marvel including some old time characters.

What’s Discouraging

When logging into Disney + this morning I was prompted with a question asking if I wanted mature content to show up on my feed of shows to watch. I had to enter my password of course, and then could stream as normal. Now I am glad that Disney included a parental control feature, because I wouldn’t want to see a 13 year old watching Daredevil or Jessica Jones. However, this has to lead people to wonder if Disney is going to start making more R rated movies.

Disney first started with making G rated movies that used to be family friendly and the entire family loved watching but recently Disney has been making changes to this. Recently Pixar movies have become much more woke than Up and the original Toy Story. Disney definitely has changed in the last year just as entertainment has. With Disney Plus adding shows to it’s platform it is becoming bigger and bigger and people will want to subscribe to this single service to get all their shows, which could raise the price from $7.99 a month, which is right now reasonable for what you get.

Conclusion

It’s hard to tell exactly where Disney is going with adding these shows, but for a Marvel fan, this is a great thing because now you can watch all your Marvel content in one place. However, the path Disney is taking is interesting as they are adding parental controls which could signify for more shows and movies like the ones listed above to come.
