Introduction

John McClane is back in a new installment of the Die Hard trilogy! In this installment, John McClane is tasked with bringing in a young hacker to be questioned after the government is hacked. John agrees to pick up the kid but has no idea what he truly signed up for. When he goes to pick the kid up, he is attacked by a group of terrorists that want to kill the hacker. McClane escapes with the kid, only to learn that the hacker had helped build a firesale. A firesale is a 3-step plan to take over everything computer related. Soon, all the traffic lights are green, bank accounts are wiped, and the government is releasing odd broadcasts. Can John McClane and the hacker find the people behind the firesale and stop them before it’s too late?

Ripe Apples

John McClane is a cop who goes into more than what he was supposed to, but he realizes that people need him so he does his best to save the day. At one point he is asked why he does what he does and he said he doesn’t want to but since no one else is available to do it he does it because he feels like he needs to. He says that that’s what makes him that guy.

The hacker learns that what he helped build was wrong and dangerous. He helps McClane to destroy the firesale. He even protects McClane’s daughter, even if he means he will experience pain and hurt. We see a lot of positive character development for this character.

Rotten Apples

This movie is very violent. We see many explosions and gunshots. Many people are shot to death and some are hit by moving cars. McClane is very bloody in many scenes. We see multiple scenes with intense fighting scenes as people are shot, punched, or kicked. This movie alone on its violence earns it’s PG-13 rating because it is detailed and meant to be a thriller.

McClane catches his daughter in a car with a guy as they are making out. The guy makes a motion towards the woman’s breast but she swats him away twice saying that she said no. After catching them she says she is going to be alone, indicating other plans before her father caught her. We see McClane shirtless a few times. McClane comments on one woman and says that “she is a hot chick.” Two different people tell a woman that she has a sexy voice.

There is a lot of language in this movie. We hear Jesus 20 times. We also hear the Lord’s name misused a lot of times, probably at least 7 times. “B-t-h”, “sh–“, “d-m-“,”a–” are all used at least 3 times. We also here McClaine say “Mother—–“, but the second part is deafened so you really don’t hear it. We also hear a few other cuss words. This movie has at least one every 7 minutes.

Conclusion

This movie is made for thrills and chills. It makes you think about what the world would be like without computers. We have become so reliant on technology that without it we would be nothing. It is definitely a great thrill ride for anyone that loves suspense. Watching McClane fight to win despite the odds is exciting. His comedy relief also will have you laughing, ever since the “Ho-Ho Now I have a shotgun” line in the first Die Hard movie. I really like this movie, but there are some rotten apples to consider when watching this movie. The second time I watched it I forgot how much language there was in it. With all those thoughts aside, I think you will love this movie if you are into action adventure films. Check it out below!
