Introduction

Billy Madison is a 27 year old man that doesn’t exactly have a plan for life. He spends his days in the pool and with his drunk friends. His father owns a big company, and when his father decides to retire, Billy naturally thinks that he will inherit the company. However, Billy’s father doesn’t think that Billy is fit to take over his company. Billy is desperate to become the owner of his dad’s company. Therefore, Billy makes a deal with his father that if he goes back to elementary and high school and passes each grade (2 weeks per grade), his father will reconsider and let his son become the new head of the company. However, not everything goes according to plan.

Ripe Apples

While Billy is very immature, there are a few moments when he helps others in school around him. When he is in 1st-3rd grade he helps the kids and the kids look up to him. As Billy continues through school, he realizes he was mean to some of his old classmates and calls them and apologizes.

While Billy originally set off just to go back to school to prove to his dad he was able to take over the company, Billy actually starts to learn new things. Billy makes friends and begins to mature. Veronica wants to see Billy succeed and continues to encourage him to do his best even when it seems that all is lost. Billy begins to put an effort into passing the grades, and when he finishes, he decides that he wants to go to college to learn more.

Rotten Apples

We see one person point a revolver at a few different people. One person is shot in the backside. A clown falls onto the ground and is seen bleeding from his head for a moment. One fist fight is seen. A man catches himself on fire for comedy, no serious burns are seen.

Billy is attracted to his 3rd grade teacher, Veronica, and he is seen making some sexual references. We see him touch her inappropriately twice. Eventually Veronica begins to develop feelings for Billy. Once this happens, Billy is seen studying for his test and Veronica is encouraging him by taking off one piece of clothing when he gets an answer right (she only takes off her sweater before Billy starts answering questions wrong.) We see another study session where it is a guy helping him and the guy takes off his shirt. The principal at the school is a man that is attracted to Billy, but Billy is not interested. We see a statue with a bare backside.

There are a few scenes in which we see Billy drunk. We also see Billy and his friends drinking alcohol and lying around drunk. It is implied that getting drunk is all that Billy does at the beginning of the film. We see one scene where they take dog poop and set it on fire in front of someone’s house.

There are about 12 s words in this film. The f bomb is heard once early on in the film in a room with a bunch of 1st graders, which is extremely inappropriate. We hear the a word used multiple times.  The d and h word are both used about 5 times. We hear a few sexual terms as well in this film. The Lord’s name is misused about 10 times.

Conclusion

This film has a very entertaining story that is hilarious. I mean, you don’t exactly expect to see a 27 year old man in the 1st grade class. Billy is funny but also caring at times. This film is full of laughs and moments. However, there are some things that you need to watch out for if you do watch this film. The sexual references and the language were much more than I expected to be in this film. I would definitely recommend this film for adults only as some of the language is heavier than you might expect. Let me know your thoughts on this film in the comments!
