However, after a stunt goes wrong, Colt breaks his back and disappears for 18 months, recovering from the accident. Colt feels like he failed and it really hurts him. However, one day he gets a call from one of the producers telling him that Jody is directing a new film and asked for him to come be a stunt man again.
Colt had not seen Jody in over a year, and was hoping to rekindle what they once had, so he agrees to return. However, when he arrives, it turns out that the producer wanted him to come back for a different reason..
Ripe Apples
After the accident, Colt’s pride gets hurt because he felt like he failed at his job. Therefore, he cuts everyone off and disappears. However, after he realizes that Jody needs him, he returns to help her.
When Colt is asked to do things to help Jody, he doesn’t hesitate. He apologizes for ghosting Jody and wants to try to fix the past. When Colt realizes that there is something shady going on on set, he is determined to figure out what is going on and prevent it from hurting Jody’s movie.
Colt is overall a great character with a lot of depth that the audience can enjoy watching.
Rotten Apples
There are a few car chases and explosions. Some guns are fired and there is some blood, but not a lot. One person is almost burned alive. We see multiple fist fights, are usually played for comedy.
Cody and Jody share a kiss in a few scenes. There are some dancers that are dressed inappropriately in the bar. One character says he fell in love with his wife’s sister.
There is one scene where Colt is in a bar and is given a spiced drink which causes him to hallucinate and see unicorns. This is mostly played for comedic effect, but Colt does act drunk in a few scenes.
There are 2 f words in this film. We hear about 20 s words, and a few d and h words. The d word and “balls” are used about 3 times each. We hear “p—y” four times in one scene. We see multiple middle finger gestures in this film The language in this film is borderline R rating, which is something to consider if you watch this film.
Conclusion
Overall I think that this film was very funny and different. It was cool to watch a movie about making a movie. The action and suspense were entertaining as we watch how Colt gets out of the mess that he is in. Some of the jokes that are made are hilarious and I had a few good laughs. Overall the plot made sense and it was a great film to watch. I especially appreciated that they made this film to recognize stunt-men and stunt-women and what they do. However, I would only recommend this film for adults due to the amount of language in this film as it felt like there was too much in this film.
