Introduction

The Abbott family is back in a brand new installment of the A Quiet Place franchise. At the end of the last film, the Abbott family lost their father, and Evelyn and Regan had figured out how to defeat the monsters. They can use Regan’s hearing aid to distribute high frequency sounds that will hurt the monsters which will allow them to kill the monsters more easily. Since they have a way to defeat the monsters, the family goes on a search to see if there are any other survivors still out there that they can help. However, this journey will not come easy, as the monsters are still out there and at large. As they search for any sign of human life, they begin to wonder something. Are they the only ones left?

Ripe Apples

This film is built for horror and thrill, but there are still some good parts in it. Most of them have to do with Regan and Emmet. Regan watched her dad sacrifice his life at the end of the last movie and she wants to complete his dad’s work of destroying the monsters. She is willing to take risks to save everyone else. We see her do her best to fulfill her dad’s work.

Emmet starts off the film only wanting to care about himself. He had already lost his wife to a sickness and he just wanted to live alone. However, as the film continues and he sees that the Abbott family needs help he realizes that they need his help and so he goes to help Regan and together they will embark on a mission to broadcast the high pitch frequency over a radio station.

Rotten Apples

There is a lot of violence in this film. These monsters are seen tearing through humans and killing them. We see some flesh torn through graphically. There is a lot of blood in this film. We also see skeletons and remains of people that have long since died. One person is stabbed with a knife. We also see the monsters get shot to death.

The sexual content in this movie is very light. We see one scene in which Regan’s outer shirt (she has another one on), removed by a man with unknown intentions. There is no other real sexual content in this film.

We see no drug content in this movie.

We hear 1 or 2 uses of “h-ll” and a misuse of the Lord’s name in vain. Since the goal is to keep quiet so the monsters don’t hear anything we don’t hear much language.

Additional Thoughts

This film was a good sequel to A Quiet Place. We were able to see where the monsters came from, as well as how the beginning of the last movie came to happen. Then we were able to see what happened following the end of the last film. The film kept the viewer on edge and I jumped a few times. I definitely do not recommend this film to anyone under 13 years old as the film has some violent content that can be very disturbing to the viewer. Other than the violence there’s no other real reason to not watch this movie as the rest of the content is mild or light.

Conclusion

In the end, this is a good sequel that adds more depth to the story. It is thrilling to see Regan and Emmet race to try to find a way to stop the monsters. At the same time the viewer gets to see Evelyn fight to keep the baby and Marcus safe. The suspense will have you on the edge of your seat the whole time. I highly recommend this film to anyone who loves horror and thrill. I do recommend to watch the first one before watching this one, however. What did you think of this film?
